What customers have said

"For all my life I have had problems with being mildly autistic, dyslexic, and a few other disorders. I have always been able to hear very detailed compositions in my head, but have not been able to express them on paper.  (I've been through quite a few music books, but not understood a single one very well).  Your "basic level" teaching seems to "get through" to me, and seems to be helping me onto a road that will get me to where I can express myself musically on paper. Many thanks for teaching the rudiments, Sheila!

A genuine, unsolicited email from 'D.J.' in the USA.

A Steam Engine!  What's that doing in a Music Theory video?  Sheila's unique teaching style, not to mention her wacky sense of humour is universally loved by all her pupils.

On video, she uses both to make this subject as accessible as possible to people of all ages, knowledge and skill levels, and if that means finding a steam railway to use as a visual aid - that's what Sheila does!

What do you get?
  1. A Downloadable Video or "module" which runs for between 10 and 40 minutes depending on the content.  (All the running times are shown in the listings.)
  2. A Separate and Individual Downloadable F.A.Q. for each module - the addresses of these are shown at the end of each video.
  3. A downloadable PDF file containing extra information and/or all the written information Sheila has shown during that module.
  4. Access to "Ask Sheila" - if there's something you really don't understand and the answer is not in the FAQ, email Sheila.  As long as you're a registered customer, she will answer you, and add your question and answer to the FAQ for everyone's benefit.
  5. A Mock Examination Paper for each grade to test your new knowledge.  The address is given in the final module of each level.
  6. A Self-Assessment Answer Sheet - the address of this is at the bottom of the test paper - don't cheat!  :-)  If you think you're not quite ready, then watch again the videos for areas you may not be certain of.
  • All these papers and documents are included in the price of the videos - there is nothing extra to pay.

Sheila really has thought of everything to make it as easy as possible to learn effectively - right where you are now - in front of your PC!

Stuck at Grade 5?

Some music examining boards will not let you progress beyond a certain level or grade in your instrument examinations until you pass a certain grade of Music Theory.  Many music teachers do not teach theory, and often, those who teach in schools, simply do not have the time to cover theory alongside instrument tuition.  This can become a "wall" the student cannot pass until that theory examination is passed.  These videos could help!
  • The Grade 1 Videos are all complete and online now
  • The Grade 2 Videos are all complete and online now
  • Three Grade 3 Videos are now on sale and the fourth will be released by the end of May
  • There is a special edition covering everything you always needed to know about Key Signatures - right from absolute beginner to Grade 8 / Professional Musician.

Request our Email Newsletter and we'll let you know the very day new modules come online.

For Mums and Dads too!

Parents whose children are starting out learning music may find the Level 1 Modules give them a real insight into the world their children are entering.  Understand the new words you will find your kids using and help them understand better themselves.

Browse Through the Shop

Click the appropriate blue tab at the top of the page.  Every teaching module is fully described and annotated in the online shop and Sheila promises all the videos needed to cover a complete Level or Grade (that's up to five complete downloadable video modules) will cost no more that ONE SINGLE music lesson!  Watch the Free Intro Video above and see what you think.

Sheet Music too!

Sheila is just starting to put a few of her arrangements and compositions on this site as downloadable PDF (Adobe Acrobat) files.  For example, a piece she wrote for Double Bass with piano accompaniment - "The Old Sea Dog" is now one of the ABRSM Grade 3 Double Bass examination pieces.  Why buy the whole book when you can have just that one piece, direct from the composer, totally legally, for a tiny fraction of the cost?

Thank you for visiting.
